Sheep Rustling in Elton

Early Sunday morning, two sheep and their lambs were taken from a field to the right of Islington Kane.  This could have been much worse if it had not been for a local resident being the area at the time and disturbing the offenders.
There were three young men carrying out the offence and were using a black van. This is the only information that is available.
Please do all you can to let other local farmers and owners of livestock know about this issue, as not everybody receives these messages.
If you have any information regarding this incident or see anything suspicious, please contact Derbyshire Police by dialling 101. Always try to get a detailed description of anybody at the scene and a registration number of any vehicles being used.
If you see a crime being committed or in the event of an emergency, please call 999.

Works are currently underway to repair a retaining wall along the B5056 between Alport (just off of Hawley’s Bridge) and the junction of Picory Corner and the A6.
