> All parks and play areas operated by the District Council have reopened. People are asked to stick to social distancing guidelines, use common sense and be respectful of others.
> The Household Waste and Recycling Centre at Darley Dale is now accepting vans and trailers onto the site. Restrictions still apply on which day your vehicle can visit the site depending on your vehicle registration number. This is to keep queues to a minimum and maintain social distancing. Please see www.derbyshire.gov.uk for more details and to ensure you do not have a wasted journey.
> A decision has been made to cancel both the Matlock Bath Illuminations and Matlock Victorian Christmas Market for this year.

Future updates
From the outset of the pandemic and the UK lockdown, I have been sending out comprehensive and detailed updates to residents in my council ward. This was to ensure everybody was kept informed about how services were being affected in a rapidly changing situation. With lockdown and restrictions easing, most services are now returning to normal. For this reason, I will continue to keep you updated on service changes, but less often and only as and when it is absolutely necessary.
Furthermore, the support group that was set-up to help self-isolating residents will also be wound down. I have spoken to the dozen or so people who were depended upon support from volunteers and they have all told me that they are able to look after themselves or feel it is safe enough to leave their home. We will continue to keep volunteers on record and standby should the need for the support group arise in the future – fingers crossed this won’t be the case – and residents can contact me at any time if they do need assistance.
The Parish Council would like to thank everybody who has volunteered and supported others in the community over recent months. Thanks must also go to everybody who has stepped-in and done their bit to help keep the village clean and tidy when services have been suspended.
Thank you,
Colin Swindell
District Councillor
