Government Guidance
- The UK Government has issued an order to ‘Stay at Home’. Residents are now asked to stay at home to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, reduce pressure on our NHS and save lives. You must not leave home or be outside the place you live unless it is absolutely necessary.
- You can leave home to…
- shop for basic necessities, for you or a vulnerable person.
- go to work or provide voluntary or charitable services – if you cannot reasonably do so from home.
- exercise with your household (or support bubble) or one other person, this should be limited to once per day, and you should not travel outside your local area.
- meet your support bubble or childcare bubble where necessary.
- seek medical assistance or avoid injury, illness or risk of harm.
- attend education or childcare – for those eligible.
If you do leave home for a permitted reason, you should always stay local – unless it is necessary to go further, for example to go to work. Local means stay in the village, town, or part of the city where you live.
- You should not meet with anybody indoors or with people not from your household or support bubble.
- You should only meet or exercise outdoors with people that you live with or in your support bubble.
- Stay at home and isolate if you or anyone in your household has symptoms of Coronavirus which include a high temperature, a new/continuous cough or loss/change to your sense of taste or smell.
- Non-essential shops, pubs, restaurants, cafes and hair dressers and salons must close. Takeaway food is permitted.
- Anybody with an underlying health condition or deemed to be clinically vulnerable should shield/self-isolate and limit their times outdoors and contact with others.
The above is a brief outline of the current guidance. For full details on the government’s guidelines, visit http://www.gov.uk/coronavirus
