Over the Christmas and New Year period, households in Elton will continue to have their waste collected on Wednesdays as usual.
Although Monday 28 December is a Bank Holiday, crews will collect waste as normal on this day – resulting in collections being unchanged for Elton residents.
Other points to note regarding waste collections over the Christmas period…
- Crews WILL NOT be able to collect any additional household waste. So, please make sure all household waste is contained in your grey bin or 4 black standard sized sacks on collections day.
- Crews WILL take excess recycling. Simply place extra materials at the side of your recycling containers, making sure it is easily identifiable as recycling materials.
- To help with the busy period, garden waste collections will be suspended from 19 December 2020 to 2 January 2021 inclusive.
- Food waste will still be collected weekly over the Christmas period.
- REAL Christmas trees will be collected from the edge of your property between Monday 6 January and Friday 31 January for collection on the day your garden/recycling waste is collected. Please make sure all decorations are removed and the tree is cut down to no more than 5 metres in height.
- Non-glitter cards and wrapping paper can be left in your blue bin insert or blue bag.
